In every city across America, homelessness is a pervasive issue that people are working to solve. And Camillus House is making great strides toward that goal in the Miami region, thanks to the help of The Abraham Foundation. Their support has played an important role in allowing Camillus House to offer the area’s most complete range of social and clinical services designed to address chronic homelessness. When Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami needed help building homes in South Miami’s Marshall Williamson neighborhood in 2003, they decided to turn to The Abraham Foundation. It was the beginning of a great relationship that Mia Batlle, Development Director, is happy to see flourishing to this day. “The Abraham Foundation has been instrumental in our work,” she says. “When we were building in Little Haiti, they all came out to work with us. The commitment of the Abraham family speaks for itself; they have a real passion for community service.”

The Miami Rescue Mission realized they’d found people who truly understood what it meant to give back when they found The Abraham Foundation. Reverend Ronald Brummitt, President, was always impressed by The Foundation’s contribution of 80-90 turkeys to the Mission’s Annual Thanksgiving Day Banquet. But once he got to know them, he discovered just how deep the Abraham family’s dedication went.
